embryogenesis. We extended this analysis to other Hox-Exd, or Hox-Hox interactions, revealing specific spatial and temporal dynamics during embryogenesis. Altogether, these results show that the BiFC is a highly sensitive method for analysing protein– protein interactions in the living drosophila embryo. Based on the BiFC approach, we established two genetic strategies to find novel cofactors of AbdA. Our preliminary results suggest that Hox proteins are able to interact with many different types of transcription factors, and we will present some of them to illustrate this point.

The Role of Central Nervous System and Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Gonadal (HPG) Axis Changes in the Occurrence of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: A Narrative Review Article
Background and Objectives: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common reproductive endocrine disorder, affecting at least 10% of women in reproductive age. It is associated with hyperandrogenism, obesity, menstrual iregularity and infertility. There are several hypotheses regarding the metabolic, genetic, epigenetic, and environmental causes of the disease. Although the main cause of the dise...
متن کاملP 75: Inflammation in the Pathogenesis of Depression
Depression is a mental disorder that results from changes in the central nervous system (CNS) that may result from immunological abnormalities. According to the World Health Organization, major depression will become the leading cause of disability worldwide. Accumulating evidence has indicated the existence of reciprocal communication pathways between nervous, endocrine and immune systems. The...
متن کاملIn Silico Analysis of Pax6 Interacting Proteins Indicates Missing Molecular Links in Development of Brain and Associated Disease
The PAX6, a transcription factor, is essential for the morphogenesis of the eyes, brain, pituitary and pancreatic islets. In rodents, the loss of Pax6 function leads to central nervous system defects, anophthalmia, and nasal hypoplasia. The haplo-insufficiency of Pax6 causes microphthalmia, aggression and other behavioral abnormalities. It is also required in brain patterning and neuronal plast...
متن کاملDeletion of histidine decarboxylase (HDC) enhances the antinociceptive effects of orexin A in the central nervous system
It has long been established that histamine plays a role as a mediator of inflammation. From numerous studies, it has been well known that the amine has many pharmacological actions on a variety of organs. To evaluate the role of histamine in pain perception, we generated HDC knockout mice using a gene targeting method. Histamine is a hydrophilic autacoid, and in most tissues it is stored and s...
متن کاملStem cell factor Sox2 and its close relative Sox3 have differentiation functions in oligodendrocytes
Neural precursor cells of the ventricular zone give rise to all neurons and glia of the central nervous system and rely for maintenance of their precursor characteristics on the closely related SoxB1 transcription factors Sox1, Sox2 and Sox3. We show in mouse spinal cord that, whereas SoxB1 proteins are usually downregulated upon neuronal specification, they continue to be expressed in glial pr...
